Green Dining directs the environmental sustainability initiatives of UVA Dining, including responsible sourcing, waste minimization, and student awareness. The Green Dining Team assists the Sustainability Manager in developing and implementing engaging opportunities and campaigns to effectively communicate these sustainable dining initiatives and successes to the UVA community.
As a Green Dining Intern, your major responsibilities might include:

Informational tabling and event management around UVA Grounds, including events such as the Sustainable Taste Cart, Cville Market

Office tasks as assigned by the Sustainability Manager

Organization of events under the direction of the Sustainability Manager

Attending meetings with various UVA sustainability stakeholders

Creation of informational and marketing materials for distribution to the student body

Management of a specific project or collection of projects within UVA Dining’s responsibilities, such as compost, waste reduction, sustainable sourcing of food, agriculture, or student engagement

Completing virtual tasks at the request of the Sustainability Manager, for example: researching sustainability initiatives and best practices around the country and assessing and evaluating current programs at UVA
