LEARNING ABOUT FOOD INSECURITY ON GROUNDS

SFSTF is working towards creating a baseline of known need at UVA and build a comprehensive understanding of food insecurity faced by food insecure students and staff.  A pilot survey was created and distributed to the Nursing student population. The pilot survey concluded: 

  • Survey can be tweaked to any school/department at UVA

  • Important to distinguish between food insecure and food secure respondents and their response
  • Need to increase awareness of community resources
