4-Part Curriculum for Youth Leadership in Food Systems

This is a curriculum designed for teen youth leadership development, with a specific focus on introducing them to the concept of a food system, and engaging them in mapping and identifying food goals for their neighborhood. This curriculum was developed specifically for a youth leader empowerment program conducted at Friendship Court in Charlottesville, VA, during the 2016-2017 academic year.  It was developed by Tanya Denckla Cobb, director of the UVA Institute for Environmental Negotiation, and Hilary (Dita) Beard, a graduate student in urban and environmental planning, as part of a larger youth leadership curriculum, funded by a SEED grant from the UVA Environmental Resilience Institute to Professor Barbara Brown.
