During this virtual conference, health care providers will gain a deeper understanding of the relationships between a changing climate and human health. Climate change is leading to an increase in intensity and frequency of extreme weather and weather-related disasters, changes in air and water quality, and changes in the distribution of vector-borne illnesses. The effect of these changes on selected health conditions will be reviewed. By gaining a deeper understanding of these changes, health care professionals will be better prepared to address population health needs in the face of a changing climate. Through knowledge and networking, health care professionals will be empowered to exert their influence to promote policies that address the causes and consequences of climate change.
