Food Insecurity refers to a lack of access to enough food to sustain an active, healthy lifestyle for all families. Those families that face food insecurity may need to make crucial financial decisions on those things consider basic needs, such as rent, healthcare, or purchasing adequate food. With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic last year, food insecurity skyrocketed, with more than 1 in 5 Virginians facing food insecurity at the one of the heights of the pandemic last April-May. Come and listen to those who work to advocate and support those who struggle with food access and food security. This is a great opportunity to hear the story, their tips and insight on how to begin to carve out a path in this area, and learn the various ways to get involved to join the fight against this issue not only facing many Virginians, but millions across the nation.
